Post launching two interesting posters and an intriguing teaser, Opticus Picture Company unveils the trailer of Darbaan, helmed by National Award winning director Bipin Nadkarni which is his Bollywood’s debut. The trailer launch is graced by Sharib Hashmi, Sharad Kelkar, Flora Saini and director-producer Bipin Nadkarni.
Director Bipin says, “I directed two Marathi films as I am more close to the culture but wanted to tell a story like this in Hindi. We have worked very hard on this film.”
Sharad Kelkar shares, “My first role on a big screen was given to me in Uttarayan by Bipin Nadkarni in 2005 so I share a different bond with him. I am playing the role of Anukool in the film, small but very important role.”
Sharib Hashmi says, “Shooting for Darbaan was my greatest experience. It is one of the closest films to my heart. I had a lovely chemistry with Sharad in the film.”
Actress Flora Saini says, “I shot an ad with Bipin sir (Nadkarni) and he offered me a film later. I am so thankful to him for offering me this role. I was so nervous while shooting one of the scenes where I had to cry but it went off so smooth.”
The film narrates a heartwarming story of a caretaker and his master and is inspired by a short story penned by Rabindranath Tagore. Besides an interesting lead cast of Sharib Hashmi, Sharad Kelkar, Rasika Dugal and Flora Saini, the film also has Harsh Chhaya and Suneeta Sengupta in the pivotal roles.
The music is composed by Amartya Bobo Rahut along with the additional song by Raajeev V Bhalla and one of the prominent songs in the film is crooned by Arijit Singh. The film is shot by Amalendu Chaudhary in the beautiful locales of Sikkim, Gujarat, Dhanbad, Wai and Mumbai. The film is distributed by Reet Films all over.
