Sarod Masters Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, the sons of Sarod Maestro Padma Vibhushan Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, have composed, recorded and released their rendition of two of the popular Ganesh Aarti devotional tracks for Ganesh Chaturthi.

Sarod Masters Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, the sons of Sarod Maestro Padma Vibhushan Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, have composed, recorded and released their rendition of two of the popular Ganesh Aarti devotional tracks for Ganesh Chaturthi. They played ‘Jai Ganesh, Jai Ganesh’ as well as ‘Sukh Karta, Dukh Harta’ on the Sarod.

Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash represent the seventh generation of the Senia Bangash School. Their father, Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan shoulders the sixth generation of inheritance in this legendary lineage.

Amaan Ali Bangash expressed, “We tried to capture the simplicity and feeling of these aartis on the sarod with specificity to a type of pakhavaj composition whose structure and compositional attributes are varied. The purpose of this track is to bring peace and tranquillity on this auspicious occasion.”

Ayaan Ali Bangash, feeling ecstatic, added, “It was an honour and privilege to interpret these aartis through our instrumental version. I hope that this track connects with every soul. Music, according to the Vedas, is the key to the pathway of divinity and this our humble tribute. It was like an inner calling to compose the aarti during Ganpati”.
