It has not been an easy journey from Jodhpur to Mumbai and the Indian film industry and the transition from being an LIC agent to a respected and revered poet. And to make his mark in a world that rarely understands the story behind a poet’s immortal verses…

Ask Sayeed Quadri about this and he would simply call his poems “an expression of his Awargi or Awarapan”, as he would term it.

And hence when Sayeed Quadri released his book of poems, aptly titled Awarapan, a summation of his journey, besides his family including wife Reena Quadri, daughters Aabshar Quadri and Kaynat Quadri, son Nayaab Quadri, niece Kashish Sheikh, nephew Adil Sheikh and son-in-law Sahil Sheikh, stalwarts of the likes of Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt, Mithoon Sharma, Narendra Sharma, Kumar Taurani, Mohammed Irfan, Jubin Nautiyal, Darshan Raval, Naushad Khan, Rumi Jaffery, Jayantilal Gada, Shyam Bajaj, Narendra Bajaj, Chirag Bajaj and Mithoon’s haunting melodies were there to laud him in his moment of glory!
